Frühroter Veltliner

Frühroter Veltliner, officially also called Malvasier, is not related to Malvasia or to Grüner Veltliner: VIVC gives its parents as Silvaner and Roter Veltliner. Its berries are reddish, but the wine is white. Of its 320 ha in 2020, 310 ha are in Lower Austria, mainly in the Weinviertel, on the Wagram and in the Thermenregion. It ripens early and gives mild, soft white wines with low acidity and nutty notes, drunk young.
