Gewürztraminer

Gewürztraminer is the aromatic, pink-skinned form of Traminer (VIVC 12609). Austrian law treats Gewürztraminer, Roter and Gelber Traminer as one quality variety, Traminer, which covered 297 ha in 2020 — in Lower Austria (109 ha), Burgenland (102 ha) and Styria (71 ha), where Klöch in the Vulkanland is known for it. The wines are full-bodied and low in acidity, with aromas of rose, lychee and spice, made dry as well as sweet.
